By News Sep 14, 2020 | 4:18 PM

Nebraska baseball fans will get their first look at the team this week.

Husker Athletics announced that the Nebraska baseball team’s opening scrimmage of the season at Hawks Field will be streamed live on the Huskers’ social channels, including Twitter (@Huskers), Facebook (facebook.com/huskers) and on Huskers.com.

“It’s a great opportunity to give our fans a live Husker sporting event to watch,” Head Coach Will Bolt said. “Our guys are excited to compete, and Thursday’s scrimmage is chance to give our fans an opportunity to get their first look at the 2021 Huskers in action.”

The Husker Sports Network team of Greg Sharpe and Ben McLaughlin will call the action, with the team taking the field around 3:30 p.m., and will include interviews with the players throughout the game.

This will be the first Husker baseball broadcast since an 8-1 win over Northern Colorado March 11. The rest of the season was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
